On Nov. 3, 2012, a team of 38 walkers and three dogs from North Walk Villa Convalescent Hospital in Norwalk, Calif., participated in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Huntington Beach.
Judy Damian, speech-language pathologist and director of rehab, served as team captain and spearheaded the fundraising. With only three weeks to prepare for the event, the team invoked Life Care’s team spirit motto of Whatever It Takes And Then Some and raised $657, along with creating T-shirts and a team banner for the event.
This is the first time the team participated in an Alzheimer’s Walk. Michael Kremer, executive director, almost all the department heads, and various associates came out for the walk.
“Everyone enjoyed the walk, the camaraderie and especially supporting a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, ending Alzheimer’s,” said Damian.
