Associates at Life Care Center of Osawatomie compete in softball game

It was a swingin’ good time for associates from Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kan., as they competed against each other in a softball game on May 16, 2013.

Line staff members took on the department heads in a game at the Karl E. Cole Sports Complex in Osawatomie, beating them 7-5.

“That was the most awesome game I’ve ever played in!” said Teresa Martin, social services supervisor. “It was a great opportunity to build our team spirit.”

Residents got in on the action, too, cheering on their team of choice while enjoying concessions. The dietary department provided homemade peanut butter sandwich cookies and nachos, as well as Cracker Jacks, root beer and water.

“It was great to see the camaraderie and be outside,” said resident Jean Heskett.

The softball game was just part of the many festivities during National Nursing Home Week, May 12-18, 2013. It fit in well with the national theme, Team Care: Everyone Pitches In.
