Life Care Center of Jacksonville celebrates five years of service

On Nov. 5, 2009, associates, family members and case managers hustled over to Life Care Center of Jacksonville, Fla., for a 1970s-style anniversary party.
The facility has been caring for community members for five years, and the leadership decided to celebrate by traveling back in time with the disco theme. The building sported groovy decorations, and attendees dressed the part – tie-dyed clothing and platform shoes were back in style for one evening.
Executive Director Sal DeCaria honored all associates with work anniversaries in November as well as associates who have worked at the facility since it opened in 2004.
Appetizers, desserts and a DJ playing ’70s music completed the fun atmosphere.
“I was so happy with the participation from everyone; even the medical director dressed up,” said Sara Dewitt, director of marketing. “As the evening ended, families, staff, case managers and residents raved about what a great time they had.”
